Chase History
Some things remain the same. After forty years of coaching young athletes in our chosen sport of basketball, and twenty-five years at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (Bayside Melbourne), we have embraced the evolution of the game. Building from our early days as Hoopstars, then MSAC Basketball, to now Chase Basketball, we have steadfastly held onto the passion and experience that is a hallmark of our programs.
From humble beginnings hosting camps and skills sessions in local gyms, Chase Basketball will conduct in excess of 65,000 hours of basketball tuition in 2023. Our expansion has seen thousands of young athletes develop their game in our Holiday Camps, UP Skills sessions, School Academies, individual workouts and team trainings.
Hoopsters to Chase, Then to Now
A coaching alumnus that includes powerhouses of our sport; Andrew Gaze, Landard Copeland, Warwick Giddey, Matthew Delavadova to name just a few, have graced the Chase Basketball courts. Continuing the tradition of providing the highest level training for the most affordable price ensures that every junior basketballer has the opportunity to be the best that they can be.
The Chase group remain the forerunners of MSAC basketball and relish the role that we have played in the expansion of the sport both locally and across wider Melbourne. There has been enormous growth in junior basketball participation and along with this comes the demand for high quality skills development and mentoring programs. Chase Basketball are honoured to be a leader in this area yesterday, today and tomorrow.
